Full steam ahead for rail transport
With its own rail network and service offerings, HGK Infrastructure and Maintenance provides rail vehicle technology for greater reliability in rail transport.
With our own, regional rail network, which counts among the largest non-state owned railway infrastructures in Germany, HGK is an important provider of local infrastructure in the Cologne area. The HGK rail network not only links the central logistics and industry hubs of the region but is also used intensively for important urban rail lines for public transport between Cologne and surrounding districts in the Rhine-Erft and Rhine-Sieg areas and Bonn.
The Infrastructure business division is responsible for the operation, expansion and maintenance of the railway network. Each year our control centre manages some 3.2 million train kilometres travelled by passenger and freight transport.

The Maintenance business segment supports reliable rail transport by providing competent maintenance and repair services. Our proximity to the major freight and rail hub of Cologne is also a major plus for our customers.
More than 60 qualified specialists provide a comprehensive range of services related to maintenance and repair of electric and diesel locomotives and freight wagons. The range of services also includes wheelset machining on an in-house system as well as servicing and maintenance by mobile workshop teams.
