Berlin, 17 March 2025 - The German Transport Forum (DVF) is pleased to welcome a new member: In future, Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG (HGK) will strengthen the association in the areas of logistics and ports/shipping.
With its companies and shareholdings, the HGK Group operates modern port facilities in Cologne and the surrounding area and enables the seamless transport of goods via various modes of transport such as rail, road and water. In addition to transport solutions, logistics solutions and services are also offered. The business divisions of the HGK Integrated Logistics Group include Logistics and Intermodal, Shipping, Rail Operations, Infrastructure and Maintenance as well as Real Estate. Today, around 2,500 employees provide reliable logistics services based on customer proximity, product expertise and efficient processes.
DVF Managing Director Dr Heike van Hoorn was delighted about the new membership: "With HGK at our side, we can represent the interests of water as a mode of transport, as well as multimodal transport chains, even more convincingly. Our network can benefit greatly from their expertise and solutions."
Steffen Bauer, CEO of HGK Shipping GmbH and representative of the HGK Group in the DVF: "We are very pleased to join the only cross-modal business association in Europe. For our customers, we combine our own assets and infrastructure for combined transport and the waterway system with comprehensive logistics services. We thus offer industry and trade a unique service portfolio for trimodal freight transport. In order to play an active role in shaping the transport transition, we rely on strong networks that - like the DVF - bring together different interests across all modes of transport. It is very important for the HGK Group to now be an active part of this network."
