Cologne. In order to better plan future developments at the Niehl port in Cologne, it is necessary to analyse the current traffic flows. For this reason, Häfen und Güterverkehr Köln AG is carrying out a traffic count in the harbour area in the coming week.
Vehicles will be recorded with special camera systems at six measuring points along the "Am Niehler Hafen" road. The cameras will be set up on 6 April and dismantled on 14 April 2025. The electronic devices are equipped in such a way that all number plates and persons are automatically pixelated beyond recognition using artificial intelligence.
This is done on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation Article 6, paragraph 1F. No personal data is collected or stored. Road users are made aware of the counting process by signs at the measuring points. The contact details of the company carrying out the count can also be found there.
