Cologne / Rotterdam: Huib ten Cate has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Oudkerk BV and is thus responsible for the activities of the logistics company from the HGK Group in the Netherlands and Belgium. The 43-year-old succeeds Kees Potters, who is retiring as Managing Director.
Under the leadership of Kees Potters, Oudkerk BV has expanded its position as market leader for port solutions in the Dutch maritime offshore sector in recent years. Oudkerk BV maintained its strong presence in the import of dry cargo (including storage control and transhipment) and intensified its activities in the field of logistics services. With the appointment of Huib ten Cate, this process will continue at Oudkerk BV. The aim is to focus on strategic growth in a changing shipping landscape. This also includes digitalisation and strengthening the company's role in the energy transition.
Huib ten Cate brings extensive operational and commercial management experience. He has held key positions at Royal Vopak. Most recently, he managed the activities of Wilhelmsen Port Services in the Netherlands, Belgium and the German ports.
Kees Potters will remain with Oudkerk until the end of 2025, but will relinquish his role as Managing Director in September 2025. A new organisational structure will be introduced at that time.
"It's great to be part of Oudkerk. They provide excellent service with fantastic commitment," says Huib ten Cate. "I particularly like the added value we offer our customers and partners. I am convinced that our local knowledge, our customer-centric approach and our excellent port logistics network will continue to be the backbone of our success in the years to come." In addition, Oudkerk BV plays a key role in the energy transition through its important role in the offshore segment: "I am convinced that we can contribute to this important change with our expertise in ship agency and dry cargo."
Markus Krämer, CEO of shareholder HGK Logistics and Intermodal GmbH, is looking forward to the collaboration: "For us, Oudkerk BV represents an important building block in the strategic development of the HGK Group. I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit an experienced manager in Huib ten Cate. We are sure that he will continue on this successful path." Kees Potters will support Huib ten Cate in his familiarisation until his departure.
