Rhenish ambassadors "Köln 1 & 2" on course north-east!

Cologne. Just in time for the end of the year, HGK Shipping has added an impressive 172 metre long and 9.60 metre wide pushed convoy to its fleet of dry cargo vessels. The two ships taken over not only act as a means of transport, but are also travelling as ambassadors for the Rhineland with their new names "Köln 1 & 2".

The Koppelverband is currently one of the most modern examples of European dry cargo shipping.

The so-called pushed barges will operate between Hamburg and Berlin in the future and are currently among the most modern examples of European dry cargo shipping. Thanks to self-sufficient propulsion systems, the vehicles can also be manoeuvred independently of each other, for example if only a small tonnage is being transported.

After a fresh coat ofred and white paint, the convoy was also equipped with 33 aluminium hatches and two hydraulic hatch carriages. "The commissioning is a further investment in the future viability of dry cargo shipping," explains Tim Gödde, Director Ship Management at HGK Shipping.
