Cologne. The HGK Supervisory Board has reached a mutual agreement with Dr Jens-Albert Oppel regarding his resignation from his posts as a member of the Executive Board of HGK AG with effect from 15 September 2026. His employment with HGK AG will continue in accordance with his contract until 31 March 2027. 

With the conclusion of his operational role, the decision taken in July 2026 to restructure HGK AG’s management structure into a purely strategic holding company will be implemented. In accordance with this decision, the Executive Board will in future consist of only two divisions and Executive Board members, rather than the previous three. Dr Oppel’s former portfolio as Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be dissolved as part of this process, and its responsibilities will be divided between the remaining portfolios. 

“We would like to thank Dr Oppel very much for his dedicated work for HGK. Since joining the company in 2022, he has played a key role in driving forward HGK’s strategic development into an intermodal and integrated logistics group,” says Dr Gerrit Krupp, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

He adds: “Our aim of offering our customers trimodal logistics from a single source, utilising our own assets and with a high degree of control, has been consistently supported and further developed by Dr Oppel. By stepping down from his Executive Board positions, Dr Oppel is also paving the way for the reorganisation of HGK, which was approved in July 2026, to be implemented immediately.”
