HGK Shipping and Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH, a company of the Salzgitter Group (SZAG), have concluded a contract for the long-term leasing of three dry-cargo vessels.

In the presence of Oliver Krischer, Minister for Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport for North Rhine-Westphalia, the HGK Group officially inaugurated its new head office. 

Draught-optimised, diesel-electric drive, a particularly wide hull design – these are the features of HGK Shipping’s next gas tanker. 

At the end of 2023, the current subsidiary neska is to become the HGK Logistics and Intermodal division. This was announced at the inaugural event of HGK Intermodal GmbH.

Due to problems with a hydraulic pump, the Rhine ferry ‘Fritz Middelanis’ has been forced to suspend operations for the time being. When and whether it will be possible to put the vessel back into service in the coming week is not yet known.

The inland shipping company Königliche Wijnhoff & Van Gulpen & Larsen B.V. (Wijgula) is expanding its board of directors. As of 1 September 2023, Simon Lucas (44) will become the third Managing Director of the HGK Shipping subsidiary alongside Norbert Meixner and Egbert Schelhaas.
